Abstract Background Although the treatment of asthma has been addressed in several guidelines, the management of the first acute wheezing episode in infants has not often been evaluated. We surveyed practicing pediatricians in Spain about the treatment they would provide in a simulated case. Objective To evaluate the effect of case management with problem solving therapy (CM-PST) on depression and disability among rural older adults and compare its effect with outcomes derived from a previous, but similar study among 84 urban older adults. Introduction: Los programas de gestion de casos (GC) surgieron como un nuevo enfoque en la atencion de personas con problemas de salud complejos con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de vida y de procurar por la eficiencia en el uso de recursos. Theory/methods: Desde 2010, en el Departament de Salud Valencia-LaFe se desarrolla la GC sobre dos grupos de poblacion: pacientes con cronicidad compleja y con necesidades paliativas (oncologicos y no oncologicos).
